Kosiski Rallies For 4th Place Finish at I-80, finishes with Top 10 at Junction

Friday night Andrew Kosiski and Team 53 made their way to I-80 Speedway for the third NASCAR weekly points race of the season. After a a sixth place finish in the heat race, Kosiski rallied back in the 20 lap main event to finish 4th. (St. Louis Dirt Track Racing Photography)

After starting 6th and finishing 6th in the heat race, the All Makes Collision Center, Certified Transmission, Kosiski Auto Parts, Super Clean No. 53 would line up in the 11th starting spot in the A main event. From the drop of the green AK was on a tear, moving up through the pack he broke into the top five on lap five and then made his way to the runner up spot on lap eight. A couple of mid race yellows proved to be a hindering for Andrew as both Bill Leighton Jr. and Josh Krug would get by on the restarts. Kosiski settled into the fourth position on the last green flag run and took the checkers there. Ben Schaller picked up the win, followed by Leighton, Krug, AK, and Charlie McKenna.

Saturday night Andrew Kosiski and Team 53 made their only stop of the year at the Junction Motor Speedway as the Malvern Bank Super Late Model Racing (SLMR) Series rolled into town for a $2,000 to win event. Track position was the name of the game all night as Andrew picked up a tenth place finish in the main after starting 14th.

Qualifying time trials were first on the track for the evening as Kosiski time trialed in 12th overall. Starting inside row two of the heat, Andrew lost two spots on the first corner of the 8 lap race and rode to a fifth place finish.

Starting fourteenth in the feature it was a game of what lane you would start in; being in the outside lane was key and throughout the course of the 25 lap main event AK battled from the 9th-13th positions. When it was all said and done the No. 53 came across the line 10th at the checkers.
