Kosiski competes in five-night stretch at I-80

Defending his home turf against the stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS), Andrew Kosiski and Team 53 made the short trip to I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Neb.) on Tuesday afternoon to kick off five consecutive nights of racing. In a field of 43 cars, Kosiski’s 10th-place finish in his heat race relegated him into the B-Main. Slated to start near the tail, Andrew was a scratch to save equipment for the remainder of the week. For another $7,000-to-win preliminary feature on Wednesday, Andrew followed up an 11th-place finish in his heat with a 10th-place outing in his B-Main.

With preliminary results from Tuesday and Wednesday aligning Kosiski 12th on the starting grid in his B-Main on Thursday for the one final shot at the $30,000-to-win I-80 Nationals, Andrew logged a 13th-place finish.

To kick off the 11th annual Imperial Tire Silver Dollar Nationals on Friday, Andrew placed seventh in his first heat before finishing seventh in his second round.

Failing to place fourth or better in his B-Main on Saturday evening, Kosiski was granted a provisional into the finale. With $53,000 on the line, Kosiski improved seven spots in the 80-lap affair to finish 23rd.
